Johnny Depp was decked out in plaid as he arrived at the Nice airport earlier today with the singer Patti Smith. He brought along his guitar and a coffee, looking ready to switch from movie to music mode. Johnny's enjoying a little well-earned time off, after spending the last few months appearing at Comic-Con and promoting Public Enemies. He has more chill time ahead before The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus hits screens on Christmas.

Johnny Depp made his directorial debut filming a music video for the band Babybird, starring Stephen Graham, from 'This is England' and 'Snatch!' and Babybird lead singer Stephen Jones. While I am all for Johnny exploring other creative paths in his life, I MUCH RATHER he stay in FRONT of the camera.

The video was shot over two days at Hatfield House, Herts, UK. During filming Johnny Depp was seen jokingly slipping a noose around Stephen's neck and smoking a few cigarettes.

What do you think about Johnny's outfit? He certainly is eclectic.

SCREAM 2009: Keith Richards Accepts the Rock Immortal Award

Scream honors Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards tonight by presenting him with the Rock Immortal Award. Johnny Depp, who famously chose to crib the rock legend's eccentric mannerisms for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow, did the honors by setting up a tribute video for Captain Sparrow, Sr.

"Once you're up there [on the stage], you're not thinking," Richards opened the video with, as it then charts his ride with the Stones over the years, from the rolling, swinging sixties to present day. "How did you survive?" he is asked in an old interview reel that closes the tribute. The young Richards smiles and shrugs. "I don't know."

Depp followed with a similar quip, pointing out the significance of the "immortal" bit in the award's name.

"Long after humanity incinerates the entire world, the only things left alive are cockcroaches... and Keith Richards." With that, the honoree climbed up and accepted the award. Richards kept his acceptance incredibly short, only muttering out a quick thank you before disappearing backstage.

The 2009 Scream Awards will air October 27th at 10PM as a two-hour special on Spike TV.




Since the ceremony wasn’t televised live, Scream 2009 will be edited into a two-hour special set to air on Oct. 27. Here is a list of all the winners.
